“We don’t make the difference on the dresses. We make it inside the shop.” It is an honest, awkward sentence: it means everything that happens before — the website, a post, a box — has to say already what the atelier can do. That is where we started, and we ended up inside an apostrophe.
The starting point
Where was Sposa d’Este starting from?
An atelier with experience and word of mouth, and a visual identity that was not the same across its channels. Around it, a set of competitors that, in the analysis, looked a lot like each other: same formats, same sequences, digital experiences built on templates.

What does someone walking into an atelier really buy?
Not a dress. A solution, a change, a confirmation of who they are.
A qualitative questionnaire across eight areas, then brand purpose, mission and vision. The benefits written in two columns: on one side the choice, the tailoring, the advice, the coordination; on the other feeling unique, being understood, letting go of the fear of getting it wrong.
Perceptioning sets four pillars to hold steady over time. The archetype is the stylist friend. And the competitor analysis, across five provinces, describes a sector that looks like itself: patchy brand consistency, template-built digital experiences, content copied from one another.
The four pillars of perception
Perceptioning- 01Style — I choose this atelier because I think I can find the dress I am looking for there.
- 02Reputation — Longevity translates into experience and competence.
- 03Approach — A one-off experience, empathetic and genuine.
- 04Reassurance — “They are a safe pair of hands”: care, attention and a rigorous method.
The tone of voice
Six words, one beside the otherwelcoming and empathetic, sensitive and confident, effortlessly witty, expert and authoritative, refined and elegant.

How do you speak to someone about to live the most narrated day of their life?
By telling her we know that feeling. All of them, one by one.
The problem is written the way she lives it: the unknown of finding the right dress, and the fear of getting it wrong. Out of that comes concept 01, getting into the bride-to-be’s shoes, and its claim: “Yes, we know that feeling well”. Then “…but we know this one well too”. And another. And another.
The other two concepts work on symbols. The apostrophe in d’Este becomes a chance for discovery, the smallest detail in the name. And a praise of error: even the mark can allow itself a deliberate imperfection.
Concept 01 is the one that was adopted: today it opens the sposadeste.com home page.

The taglines
Lined up, and then chosen

What can an apostrophe do?
Hold together two letters, two marks and a way of welcoming people.
Seven identity concepts: a restyling in continuity with what exists, the equation of time, flourish, meanwhile in a parallel universe, bold and modern. And two for menswear, built around a button.
In between, a long stretch of type research: dozens of faces tried on the logotype before choosing. Then the refinement: adjusting the monogram, four versions of the logotype, a summary of them all, and finally the combinations with the tagline abito nel tuo cuore.
The logotype was also tested on the atelier’s own tailoring worksheet. It is the most technical document they have: if the mark holds up there, it holds up anywhere.

Where does a dress go when it leaves the atelier?
Into a garment bag, a box, a carrier bag. They are the only brand objects that stay in the house.
Boxes in two versions, light and dark. Garment bags in three sizes. Dedicated carrier bags: one for the bride, one for the groom. And the tissue paper, with the repeated logotype, that you only see when you lift the lid.

How do you get someone inside an atelier before they actually walk in?
By slowing down. The site is built on the time the atelier gives you, not on the catalogue.
Before the pages we drew the hierarchy of the home page and the structure of the menu, with the crossing between the bridal world and the Uomo d’Este world.
Occasion wear is not organised by product category but by role: mother, friend, sister, witness, colleague, bridesmaid. That is how people actually look for it.
And the opening is not a catalogue: it is the claim. Yes, we know that feeling well.
